Selfishness is the greatest single enemy of relationship…and it really is the root of all sins. When I insist on being the center of my world…
I’m out of place and my world is out of balance.
The tremors of selfishness will not stop until they have destroyed something… my friendship…my marriage…my job…my sanity.
Selfishness is a natural sin that comes easy to our flesh. It likes to pout and sulk or execute the silent treatment when things don’t go the way we want.
Selfish people cannot see past what they think they’re missing to appreciate what they have.
The solution for selfishness is not getting what we want…that only solidifies our selfish behavior. It is never satisfied…and the more it gets, the more it wants.
Selfishness is so wrong…it considers our own personal good much more important than anothers. It’s a pre-occupation with self…an excessive…exclusive concern for me…myself and I. Always seeking my own advantage or pleasure without regard for the well being of others.
When we are selfish, “WHAT WE WANT” becomes our highest goal and everybody around us feels like they’re in the way…and we don’t care…
A secret spirit of pride operates through selfishness and sabotages relationship until we are “self alone”
Let’s press into love and preferring each other. Let’s be kind and gracious and good to one another. Life is “but a vapor.”
Not one of us knows what tomorrow will bring..
So let’s be warm and giving in everything
