Proverbs 12:22:
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but those who deal truly are his delight.
Today many are caught up in the spreading of falsehoods and lying. This choice of behavior is not just a preference or a mannerism…but it is a spiritual condition.
Satan is a pathological liar, and Jesus described him as the father of all lies.
If we “choose to lie” we are sinning and engaging in an action that places us on the opposing side of the way of Jesus…and we are “choosing” darkness rather than light.
There is no such thing as a little white lie or a small inconsequential tale. A person who is dishonest in little things is not usually honest in anything. Continually choosing to lie will bring bondage, heartache and eternal repercussions. God himself said “I hate a lying tongue”…
Proverbs 14:5
An honest person does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
