Today is a great day for you and me to start to take responsibility for our own heart issues and offenses. If we have been offended…or sinned against then as followers of Jesus we are to go to that person in humility and share our offense, and then be patient and see how the process plays out.
NOWHERE did Jesus say to uncover the issue publicly…where the world can judge our inadequate way of showing love and unity. We are not to pursue “Justice”…get even..punish them or try to damage their reputation.
After a time…if there is nothing resolved and the offender is still operating in the same spirit…then we can bring a caring brother or sister with us to confront the issue in love and compassion..with the desire to bring restoration to relationship.
After this…if nothing changes we can share with the church the extent of the problem in the hope it will be reconciled and restored…and if that does not work then we are free to “let them go” and leave them to God.
Sadly today…believers would rather “cover up” than “fess up” and people blindly attend in places of worship where the leader is in sexual or financial sin…because it’s been hidden and kept secret by a team of leaders who are no more than accomplices to the offender.
If we would follow the biblical protocol we could see lives and ministers and ministries restored...
The Word “works” if we walk in it and allow it to. The problem of seeing true solution seems to come down to “money” and not wanting to lose tithes and offerings and partners…It’s forever true that we cannot serve God and money. We all want success but we seldom love the process. The secret is to learn from every life experience…good and bad and then surrender to change as a response in the hard moments of personal choice…
We are in the “rubber meets the road season” self evaluation is BIG and not just in the body of Christ! All around North America true colors are becoming visible for all to see…
It’s a time for “To thine own self be true” then we can be true to others too…
